Ingredients
2/3 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 ½ tbsp apple cider vinegar
- ½ tsp Dijon mustard

Apple Pecan Dr K’s Tenn Cans Shotgun Smokers
1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 tsp minced garlic (3 cloves)
1 ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 ½ tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 ½ tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 large eggs
- 2 lbs ground turkey
- ¾ cup bread crumbs
- 1 tbsp dried Italian seasoning

In a saucepan, add all of the above.
Over low heat, whisk until thoroughly mixed.
Prepare Meatloaf
Saute the onions and garlic using the olive oil til translucent
In a large bowl, combine salt, pepper, paprika, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, eggs, Italian seasoning, cooked onions and garlic and ¼ cup of the glaze.
Mix well.
Add turkey and breadcrumbs, and mix thoroughly with your hands.
Place the meatloaf mixture into a 9-inch loaf pan and pack tightly. (Lining the pan with clear food wrap may help flip the meatloaf later)
Spray the surface of a medium cooking sheet with cooking spray.
Flip the loaf pan over quickly and place the meatloaf onto the sheet pan, reshaping if needed.
Grilling the Meatloaf
Get your grill going and get to a temperature around 350-375 degrees. We use the BGE.
After your grill is preheated, place 2 Dr K’s Tenn Cans (flavor of choice; we like Apple Pecan) on the grill.
When the Shotgun Smokers start smoking, place the sheet pan with the meatloaf on the grill. Use indirect heat.
Grill/smoke the meatloaf for 30 minutes and then coat all sides of the meatloaf with the glaze.
Grill for another 10 minutes and recoat the meatloaf with the glaze.
Grill for another 5 minutes or until the meatloaf is cooked to your satisfaction.
*Recommended temperature for ground turkey is 165, remember the meat will temperature will continue to rise 5-10 degrees after removing from grill while resting)Remove from the grill and allow the meatloaf to rest for 5-10 minutes.
Slice and serve with the remaining glaze for dipping.
